Treatment Information

In the beginning of your care.

At first your treatment is determined by how seriously you are hurt and how much pain you are in. In the more serious cases we may only be able to use Ice, Mild Muscle Stimulation and a special type of Ultrasound that pushes out the swelling so you can heal better. Soon we want to be moving the injured area with stretching and/or mild exercises, finally we would like to be able to move the joints with adjustments to re-establish good range of motion.

If you have symptoms of a bulged disc.

We use the ultra modern Non-Surgical type of Spinal Disc Decompression for disc injuries of the neck and low back. We may not be able to do that immediately since it is not used on new/acute injuries. Occasionally the disc injury is the primary problem and we would then start the Disc Decompression ASAP because the disc needs blood as well as the extracellular fluid from the surrounding tissues in order to heal. Thats another little secret about discs, they don't heal very good because they don't get much circulation so they need treatment for a long time if we expect them to ever heal and even then YOU have to get involved by doing the stretches and strengthening exercises we will get to later in your treatment.

Acupuncture, Microcurrent, Lasers, Healing & Circulation

We need circulation to heal. This is a fact. There are many studies that prove beyond any doubt that Microcurrent (a whopping 233 studies show that Microcurrent decreases pain by speeding healing) Cold Laser (specifically Red 635nm laser) and Acupuncture (thousands of years of use and many studies) help decrease pain and speed healing. This isn't magic, it happens through increasing the circulation in the injured area and increased circulation helps the injury heal faster and more thoroughly than if it were not used. I offer the most modern Microcurrent treatment available anywhere in the world to help decrease your pain and speed your healing. Microcurrent is #1 !! I am trained in the use of Cold Lasers and after using many lasers over the years I now use the simple 635 nm Red Cold Laser when I think it will help you. Most of the laser stuff out there is a gimmick but the Red 635 has many fantastic applications. I am also trained and certified by multiple instructors at 2 different schools to perform both the Chinese TCM style Acupuncture as well as the modern Biomedical type Acupuncture. However, Acupuncture is usually not used in the types of acute injuries suffered in an auto accident, the Microcurrent is much gentler. The Acupuncture will however help with nerve pain when nothing else will so sometimes it may be the right thing.

How does my body heal?

Rehab Exercise is absolutely Crucial to your long term health! 

Rehab is a word that covers a lot of ground. Rehab usually begins with stretching and muscle work that is a little like massage. The purpose of this is to limit the scar tissue formation because the more you build up scar tissue the harder it is to get you back to 100% and the more likely it is you will develop chronic long term pain in the effected areas. Later rehab focuses on the core strength of the neck and low back as well as any other specific injuries.

Unfortunately Texas has pretty much eliminated any "real" form of Workmans Compensation. It would shock you if you knew all that went on. I and many others like me were powerless to stop it. The Reps/Senators in Austin "were to busy" to see those of us that traveled to Austin to try to talk sense into them. As a result very few doctors will accept work related injury cases where Texas Workmans Comp is involved, they simply don't pay their bills, even when they pay it is at the medicare rate so most places have gone out of business. Nowadays you just have to go to the ER and the company doctor, sorry.
